His Last Dream- Part II (First draft)

Hello Everyone~

I've been writing this story because I really have to end a freaking story of mine FOR ONCE!!!

Here it is the link to the first part:

His Last Dream- Part I (First draft)

I changed the format to the names, instead of saying "It" and "Magic", I just capitalize to facilitate the reading and to be quite honest, I did not read the first part at all!!! This second part may not make sense with the first one, but I just wanted to keep writing and whatnot...

I also eliminated the illustrations because I do not have the time to draw and to edit, I haven't even have the time to revise these two parts...

In other words, I apologize but this is the first draft and I'll fix this somehow after I'm done writing. Here is the second part, enjoy~

His Last Dream- Part II

The man didn’t jump, but simply walked on the surface and made his way to where ‘it’ was. As he was walking he noticed things shining underneath the surface. Each water drop that vanished from the rain it incorporated into the frozen looking water, but it wasn’t the drops that were shining in the surface. ‘Magic” kneeled down and carefully observed what his eyes couldn’t believe. Instinctively after recognizing the phenomenon, the man looked up to search for the cosmically ornaments that usually are on the sky at night.

Slowly without been able to see any, his sight came down where ‘It’ was standing on.

“It can’t be” He thought while moving towards ‘It”

“Why are you starring everywhere, Magic? Something wrong?” ‘It’ asked, as if having the moon trapped underneath a lake was something ordinary as if stepping on a mere reflection in a puddle.

“The sky has been trapped in the lake” He replied while pointing out with both hands at the lake.

“Well, yeah…It has been like this since….I don’t know…Always” A giggle came out of ‘It’ after remarking the fact in a sarcastic way.  To this reaction the man with raised his left eyebrow in slight disapproval.
IT felt an aura full of antipathy coming from MAGIC and to smooth the mood; IT decided to invite him to jump into the lake.

“MAGIC, would you like to swim in the lake? We can rest afterwards.”

IT didn’t know if that would please the young man who seemed to be annoyed by the situation, and just smiled to him to at least appease him a little.

In reply, MAGIC stomped on the glass looking floor but this one stayed firm and didn’t break or crack.  IT puzzled by the man’s actions said “You don’t have to take your anger on the lake…”
“I did not take my anger on the lake. I just want to know how we are supposed to swim in this solid lake, if it doesn’t break or melt.”

“Melt?” IT asked not knowing what the man was talking about, but IT remembered that there was no time to waste. IT ran to MAGIC, grabbed his hand and took him to the center of the lake where a dull looking motionless sun could be seen on the surface. “We don’t have much time if we want to swim, just follow me and you will see” IT told MAGIC while both of them moved. MAGIC didn’t know what to think or believe, for he thought at first that the lake was frozen but it felt solid as an unbreakable rock.

IT took a deep breath and let all the air come out of its lungs afterwards, then IT faced MAGIC and told him “We have to jump in the lake, okay? Are you ready?”

MAGIC had an ambiguous expression on his face but before asking where exactly to jump to. IT grabbed both of his hands and jumped as high as possible. In a matter of a fraction of a second MAGIC had a bunch of questions in his mind “What is IT doing? Do I jump too? Should I let go of IT?” but his body acted automatically and unconsciously MAGIC also jumped following IT behind for just a second.

They didn’t touch the floor like MAGIC expected, instead they were inside the lake and surrounded by water.

“I told you, see~ we were able to jump into the lake” IT told MAGIC who incredibly could hear IT perfectly as if they could communicate by telepathy.

“Told me what, exactly?” MAGIC responded while IT let go of his hands and started to swim away from him.

He looked down and could have easily swum to the bottom of the lake, where he could see plenty of starfish, normal plantae and marine life. He smiled at the normality of the place, his anxiety lessen as fast as his body recognize the usual feeling of water. IT knowing MAGIC wasn’t following turned around and yelled at him “Are you staying there or are you coming?” MAGIC fascinated by the panorama didn’t pay attention to what could have been the top priority…air.  He swam to where IT was waiting but while doing so, he had to look up.

The starry sky was trapped in the reflection of the surface instead of the lake this time. It looked as if it was high up and nothing like it looked on the other side of the surface. Has it always been this way? Are the stars and the sun painted on both sides of a coin?

MAGIC and IT swam to where only fluorescent light coming from corals was the only source of illumination. Everything colored in hues of blue filled the view, white algae reflected light and the ones covering rocks could have been mistaken for snow, and even many marine plants seemed to be trees covered in ice under an icy weather. Fish swam as if dancing under a frozen rain, while distantly the sound of dolphins could be heard as if it were a sweet melody, the rhythm could not be other than the echo of the waves crashing on rocks. Seahorses sang the chorus while the main singer was no other but the sea itself.

IT danced to this unique song while MAGIC just contemplated the here-and-now moment. Breathing in fact was forgotten since MAGIC forgot about air and the sensation of drowning.  It was a long lost sentiment that IT has never experienced before. It didn’t matter anymore and just like this, time passed as a warm wind that embraces a person just seconds before disappearing into oblivion.

Purple and pin jellyfish gathered up around them until unexpectedly they swam rapidly to the opposite direction as if running away from something. Then, IT remembered about time and said “Shit! MAGIC we have to leave! Swim as fast as you can to the sun!” MAGIC saw the concern on ITs face and not only that, but also the marine life aggressively moved everywhere as if something terrible was about to happen. The young man swam very fast even faster than IT, for he could not forget his formidable experience as a swimmer. When he left IT behind he had to look back and just about to go grab IT, he saw a deep darkness following them. He felt unease and helped IT go back to the surface; MAGIC pushed IT up and contemplated the darkness coming fast to them. IT screamed “Come here or you will be trapped!” MAGIC reacted, pushed himself up, and in seconds he was once again on the frozen looking lake.

“It took you forever to come back!” IT claimed and told MAGIC “At this time, the portal locks itself and you can’t travel this way or that way.”

MAGIC had to ask “What was that darkness? What would have happened if we didn’t make it out of there in time?”

“Nothing, it is just darkness… Once, I couldn’t go back here and had to stay there for who know how long. It is just scary, you miss track of everything… you don’t feel your hands or feet and no longer can differentiate between what it is real and what it is not. You no longer know what you are or who you are… that is all.” IT replied and as IT keep going its sight went down to looking at the floor, its voice changed from calmed to trembling and at the end a long silence stood between the two.
